Question #3:
How does car insurance work? do u have to pay for it monthly?
i'm buying my first car and am confused as to how car insurance works. i know its better to have insurance before driving your car off the lot but how does insurance work? do you pay insurance monthly liek you do for a car note?Question #4:
How do i go about getting car insurance?
ok so i just bought my first car but i dont know a thing about getting insurance nd what not.. my mum said something about third party insurance and greenslips and what not. what's the first step i should take?Question #5:
maybe prius owner might have turned the car off a little sooner?
Click Herenot sure what people are thinking, but the key is the first line of defense in ANY car. to sit back on a joy ride is just ridiculous. if u can't think on your feet well enough to turn off the car, you might consider turning in your license.
yes, i believe this is a political question. with the media NOT reporting the Government Motors recall in any depth, this becomes political.
no, the key is first line. you wanna scare the crap out of somebody, then shift a fully floored vehicle into neutral and see if the screaming engine doesn't make the driver crap his pants.
so while his engine is over-revving/blowing, he will safely park his car on the shoulder...
...i don't think so.
practice turning off your car (one click, not all the way so the stearing locks) and the method will prove the best way. i guess ability and common sense come with experience.
there is no way he tried the key. he might think so, but if he did he would have turned the car off. sorry, but this story is full of holes. second, the Prius is a weak little car. there would have been a lot of time to properly stop this car. Try stopping a 800 HP off road truck when the throttle sticks...
...you turn off the ignition or your 10k plus engine is toast. Happens a lot faster than in a Prius.
yes, you still can turn the ignition even when using the fob to start the car.
in the article he says he got the car down to 50mph and then turned the ignition off. so yes, it can be done and was done. just too late.
finally, steering problems are much more serious than sticking accelerators.
Why aren't you liberals backing the Prius? This was afterall your shining example of self-righteousness. Oh right, the socialist government motors ownership thing is much more comforting to you. You all believe too much of what you are sheeply led in the media.
Question #6:
Here's another great one from a great contact, you like it?
SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST…..THE BROKEN LAWN MOWER
When our lawn mower broke and wouldn’t run, my wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed.
But, somehow I always had something else to take care of first, the truck, the car, playing golf,
Always something more important to me.Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point.
When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors.
I watched silently for a short time and then went into the house.
I was gone only a minute, and when I came out again I handed her a toothbrush.
I said, ‘When you finish cutting the grass, you might as well sweep the driveway.’
The doctors say I will walk again, but I will always have a limp.
Question #7:
Do the Nascar teams sell their old stock cars?
Do they sell them or what do they mainly do with them?I was watching something and I think they said like Hendrick had like 60 for sale. Then I think I heard something last year that some of the small team (like Joe Nemechek) has like first generation COT's of Hendrick.
I am just curious if I heard the above paragraph correct.
Thoughts?
Question #8:
First night home and baby is fussy, help?
This is our first night home. My girlfriend was up with our daughter but I told her I'd take her so she could get some rest. She's been upset for like 3 hours now. I've tried changing her, feeding her(she's on formula if it helps),making sure she wasn't hot/cold,turning off the tv,turning on a fan,her pacifier, rocking her, talking to her, doing the bicycle legs thing & going for a car ride. She might stop for 10 minutes tops.Is there anything else I can do to try to quiet her? I really want my girlfriend to rest but she's not really going to if she hears our baby crying like this. Is there something wrong?
Question #9:
Suspended Drivers License?
In July 2009, my license was suspended for a FTA to show correction for my window tint. I went to DMV to get me license reinstated ....and it was. DMV told me to eventually go to the court to get the hold removed so I could update my address.I had forgot to go to court so the court suspended my license again in October 2009, but I didn't know that it was suspended until today.
Today, my car was impounded by the Livermore Police Department in California because I was driving with a suspended license. I'm going to court tomorrow to clear the FTA for 2009.
When I go to court for the new ticket written today, what MIGHT the judge say if I tell him that I didn't receive any notification from DMV that my license was suspended in October?
I still do have the documentation that I had reinstated my DL the first time is was suspended.
Question #10:
What's your 'definition' on..?
Rape? I know it's a touchy subject for a lot, but I'd really like a mother's opinion on this, and I figure this is the best place to ask.My reason for asking is a very long one, so I'll try to trim it down..
There's this guy.. we'll call him John. I've come into 'contact' with him on a few occasions, never fully willingly. To be completely honest, with the pain I end up in afterward, I'd have to be out of my mind to want to have sex with him. He knows I'm afraid of him, he knows I'm uneasy being around him, yet he never eases up. He knows I'm afraid to say 'no', because last time I turned him down, I got a call from his step-mother the following day saying, "I'm so sorry to tell you this, but John was on the phone all morning telling everyone all of this really nasty stuff about you.." [I'd prefer not to expand on that]
There were a few times where I had told my boyfriend about it.. but then he got fed up and told my mother. At first, she supported me, and as John has a counselor and has been.. diagnosed as a Sociopath, she trusted me about it.
Until a few months ago, we were in the car and things got brought up, and she yelled at me, called me a whore, told me I don't "act like a rape victim", told me about when she was held at gunpoint, and suggested I get counseling because she saw it as "a cry for attention that I just don't understand".
I just don't know what to think of it :/
Any input would be great<3
Wel, I honestly don't have too much of a choice.. He's my step-nephew. His step-mother, being my sister. Was gonna avoid throwing that in, but I guess it does make my situation sound.. stupid, rather than bad.
I've asked his dad and my sister, but he refuses to leave just because I'm going to visit my sister. And they can't just "kick him out of his home"
ie, his mother and grandparents don't want anything to do with him... because of how he is.
Question #11:
What is your favorite feud from The Ruthless Aggression Era of WWE (2002-2005)? Why?
Mine's the legendary feud between The Undertaker & Randy Orton at 2005. An epic personal feud which should easily make it to any of The Undertaker's top 5 feuds of all time list.Randy Orton still wasn’t an established main eventer after facing The Undertaker in 2005 though. Let’s remember that Randy Orton jobbed frequently 2006-2007. Randy Orton was always paired up with someone that could elevate his status as a solidified main eventer. The Undertaker raised his credibility for a while, but Randy Orton still stayed as an upper mid carder. Edge tried helping him in late 2006 with Rated RKO and Orton’s feud with John Cena also solidified Orton as a main eventer. I would say that Triple H made Orton into someone and then The Undertaker raised Orton’s credibility and helped him get ready to feud in the main event. Before his feud with The Undertaker, Randy Orton was a mid carder who didn’t really do much significant things after his loss to Triple H at New Years Revolution and The Royal Rumble.
Randy Orton had a very personal rivalry with The Undertaker regarding over the streak. It was during this time that the streak grew increasingly popular and noticed. Randy Orton had the buildup, preparation, and ability to put on suitable matches against The Undertaker. Randy Orton was first booked as the Legend Killer; a remorseless man who destroyed legends in front of the fans. The Undertaker was a legend that refused to be killed and Orton taunted Taker for weeks and weeks until they finally clashed at Wrestlemania. There were many moments in the match where people thought Randy Orton was going to come out victorious over the deadman with the counters he made. It was a tremendous fight that was billed as Legend vs Legend Killer. Their feud turned very intense and personal over the next several months.
The Undertaker did turn Randy Orton into a worthy main eventer because Orton got much more noticed after his ongoing rivalry against Undertaker. Triple H gave Orton the necessary start to become a main eventer and The Undertaker gave Orton a chance to become a main eventer. Randy Orton turned into a credible superstar after this feud with The Undertaker, especially after their classic match at Wrestlemania 21. Bob Orton eventually joined his son to go against The Undertaker and they had matches at Summerslam, Casket match at No Mercy, and the epic clash in Hell in a Cell at Armageddon. Randy Orton took The Undertaker to the limit in many occasions. Randy Orton and his father even crashed The Undertaker with a car. This feud had the atmosphere, intensity, and desire to beat the other. WWE realized this and called it feud of the year for 2005.
Orton’s career was elevated after The Undertaker and Randy Orton had a dramatic feud. They had a very heated feud with both superstars literally wanting to destroy each other. Orton didn’t only want to end The Streak, but he wanted to demolish The Undertaker as a whole. Randy Orton played every dirty trick in the book while The Undertaker continuously played mind games with Randy Orton. Their final match at Armageddon in Hell in a Cell was a great ending to such a heated rivalry. In just a year, Randy Orton created history with The Undertaker more than The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, and Ultimate Warrior ever did with The Deadman. And this feud was far better than one sided feud between Undertaker & Brock Lesnar or Undertaker & Ric Flair in 2002.
Some memorable moments of the feud:

Question #12:
Names names names names. What do you think?
Malakai Aston (mel-ah-kye ast-on)I have loved the name Malakai for years. I do not like the original spelling - (malachi) as I hate the nickname Mal or Mel for a boy. His nickname would be Kai. We are set in stone for this name, as I chose the first name and my bf loves the Aston Martin cars, hence the middle name.
Noah Daniel (no-ah dan-yul)
I love biblical names, Noah is my second after Malakai. Daniel is my boys best friend. This middle name was going to be future dad's middle name, but he decided against it. He loves his bestie like a brother, and I think it flows nicely.
Logan Arthur (low-gen ah-tha)
My bf chose the name Logan. Arthur is my grandad middle name, he is an absolute gem of a man. I love him to death. Even though it is a bit old fashioned, I want to honour him.
Briella Isobel (bree-elle-ah is-o-bell)
I LOVE the name Isobel, and love the nick name Bella but would never use the name Isabella because of the immense popularity of it. Briella is just as pretty and the child has many nicknames to choose from. But I will christen her Bella until she can decide herself. Anyway, I won't change the spelling of Isobel to Isabelle because it would look to similar to Briella.
Arianna Carrera (ar-ee-ah-nah car-air-ah)
Both me and my bf love teh name Arianna. We heard it while we were out one night and and loved it. Carrera was bf's choice after the car Porsche Carrera.
Ruby Maya (roo-bee may-ah)
We love the name Ruby. It is simple and cute and grows with the person. Maya is in honour of my bf's grandma, her middle name is May. Maya is just a little more modern.
So, do you like the names? Singularly and together?

Question #15:
Should illegals be trusting their lives & those of their children to criminals looking only to make a profit?
Smugglers make deals and break them. They hold men, women and children in locked stash houses, while using violence and threats to extort money from their relatives. The kidnapped immigrants have been beaten, starved, raped, even killed, said Miguel Unzueta, who oversees the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Los Angeles.Independent coyotes still operate all along the border, but law enforcement officers say highly sophisticated criminal networks and drug trafficking cartels have taken over much of the trade.
"These organizations are ruthless," Unzueta said. "You don't know what you are buying into when you decide to be smuggled into the United States. . . . It's a huge, huge, tremendous risk."
In January alone, law enforcement officers discovered "drop houses" in Lancaster, Lynwood and Reseda and rescued dozens of illegal immigrants being held against their will. When agents arrived at the Lancaster house, a suspected smuggler was beating one of the immigrants. The women held in Lynwood said guards tried to exchange sex for blankets.
Los Angeles Police Lt. Carlos Velez, whose detectives handle as many as 50 coyote kidnapping cases each year, said immigrants are trusting their lives -- and those of their children -- to criminals looking only to make a profit.
"The motivating factor for them is greed," he said. "They want the money. They are not concerned about the safety of the individual."
Yaneth, 29, knew the journey was risky. But her husband was already in the U.S. and she wanted her family back together.
She and her husband first crossed illegally in 2007, leaving their two children with their grandparents in Mexico. She talked to them every day, but missed them too much. Yaneth returned to Mexico the next year.
Through a neighbor, she found a smuggler, Jose Luis Martinez-Ocampo, a legal permanent resident who agreed in May 2009 to take her and her children to the U.S. for $4,500. They would have three months to pay.
They flew to Tijuana and planned to cross at the beginning of June. Yaneth and her son, who was 11, would trek through the mountains. Her daughter would cross in the smuggler's car -- what Yaneth believed would be a faster, safer passage.
"I thought it would be just one day," she said. "And even that was too much time." On June 1, Yaneth took a deep breath and handed her daughter to the smuggler. Nayli was carrying her favorite doll and pretended to sleep in the back seat. They crossed without being detected.
But Yaneth and her son were caught by border agents.

Question #16:

Does my car have keyless entry?
Someone told me that my Honda Civic LX (2001) had capabilities for keyless entry. I looked online and I found a keyless entry remote so I read up on it and it seemed as if it should work on my car. I received the remote this evening but i can't get it to program. Does anyone know for sure first hand if my 2001 honda civic lx has keyless entry capabilities?Question #18:
Do ya think Nascar fans who are southerners don't give drivers a chance who are from other regions of the U.S.?
Everyone knows stock car racing holds a special place in the hearts of southerners because the first stock car drivers were rum runners from the south and they were excellent drivers. And many of the first big stock car races originated in the south (especially the biggest race, the Daytona 500, which was actually first held on the beaches of Daytona). I have been living here in Florida for many years now and of course Dale Jr. is king with the racing fans here. I must admit that he is awesome but he's not my favorite driver. But anyways, do you think some southern fans are biased when it comes to picking favorite drivers? I remember when they used to sweat Jeff Gordon because he was an outsider who was born in California and raised in the midwest (Indiana). Then there are all of the other drivers who are from other places such as Matt Kenseth (from my homestate of Wisconsin), Harvick (California), the Busch brothers (Las Vegas), and a few others. So do you think southerners still sweat other drivers from other regions just because they're not from the south?Question #19:
Am I right to be mad?
My fiance of 3.5 years told me on the way to a buffet that we were going to tell my parents that we are finally going to start to plan for a wedding. I was so excited because this is the first time and it was such a big announcement. We got there and he stuffed his face at the buffet and promptly forgot to tell them until we got back to our car. Am I right to be mad or is this not something to be mad about?
He then told only my dad when he was outside looking for a dead rat that was stuck in his engine....
Question #20:
Which is a good car for the city?
More specifically New York City. I'm buying my first car soon, and I was going to get a Jeep Wrangler or Cherokee. I've always wanted one or the other, and I would take it off roading on the beach ( I live on Long Island). However, I plan on moving to the city after high school, and I still want a car of my own. Would a Jeep make a good city car, or should I buy a different car as my first car? I'd prefer and SUV. Which other car would you recommend, if not a Jeep? Thank you** Powered by Yahoo Answers
