Question #1:

How often do you clean your child's stroller and car seat?

And how thoroughly do you do it?
Just wondering because I gave my son's car seat and stroller a THOROUGH cleaning and service today, I'm always pedantic about wiping them down after each use but today was the first time since buying them that I actually pulled them apart, washed the fabric parts in the washer, cleaned all the gunk out of the moving parts and oiled the wheels and axles of the stroller!
I was actually rather shocked at just how dirty they were, considering they still looked showroom 'new' condition.

Dealership manager will let me buy 2004 Honda Civic for $6700 with less than 100,000 miles on it, sketchy?

I went to Toyota of Waterford the other day and I test drove a 2004 Honda Civic with 98,xxx miles. They just received it that day from an older gentlemen. It drives great! I noticed the rpm gauge is at 5 idling and 7-8 driving. The engine doesnt sound like its working hard though, is the gauge just off sync or is there something wrong with this vehicle? The manager that this location wanted $8,100 for it, I got her down to $6700 INCLUDING taxes and paperwork. I did not agree to buy it yet, but Im thinking theres something wrong with this car that someone is unwilling to tell me about? I certainly dont have the money to put into a car immediately after I put everything I have into it. This will my first car. I cant find another 2004 honda civic with that low mileage from even a private seller for 6700 or under.

2001 Toyota Celica, how many miles can I expect to get out of this car as it has been well maintained?

I'm looking at a 2001 Toyota Celica with 163,000 miles on it. That makes me question the asking price of $6,000. He said he tore down the entire engine and rebuilt it from scratch and cleaned it really well. His father is a Toyota master mechanic, so his son, who I'm talking to, has been doing it for 20 years now.
This what he wrote. "I bought this car and it had a bad intake valve in it due to excess carbon on the valves. So I decided to tear the engine completely down to a bare block and rebuild it right and clean everything up so that it ran perfectly when I was done. Every gasket has been replaced. I bought a Toyota master rebuild gasket set which includes head gasket, intake gaskets, exhaust gaskets, fuel rail gaskets, injector orings, crank seals, cam seal, oil pump seal, thermostat gasket, oil pick up tube gasket, valve stem seals and valve cover gasket. In addition to that I sealed the timing cover, water pump, and oil pan with rtv sealer. On this engine those items are sealed instead of using gaskets. I cleaned and lapped all the valves to insure they seat well. I replaced all the piston rings and inspected all the bearings and they were very clean for the mileage. "
It has a ding on the passenger side door, enough to notice from a crappy cell phone photo, it looks kind of medium sized.
Knowing that the engine is super clean and stuff, how many miles can I look forward to getting out of this vehicle if I keep it very well maintained?
This will be my actual first car that I will get to OWN, so I really dont want to waste 6 g's on something that will only last me 100,000 miles or 2 or so years.

Which car should I go with kia soul ! or honda fit?

Me and my husband recently visited a dealership to purchase a 2010 beetle. I loved the car plus it's the last year there making it so we signed papers bought it and everything was good. About a week later we get a letter saying were not approved! This was our first car purchase so were real confused and we go over to the dealership. They tell us they will still do the financing but not at the amount we agreed on they want to charge us like $700 bucks a month now cause the interest is so high so we tell them we can't afford that. We previously agreed on around $490 a month. So now were stuck with no car because we traded ours into them and when we ask for our car back they tell us we have to pay them $1000 for the time we drove the beetle. At this point I'm so upset and so now we have to buy a car from them or pay the fee. We try to buy a used car and they tell us the older the car is the more interest we will pay on it so it's really not worth it at all and we have to buy a new car. The manager shows us the honda fit which I really don't like just the basic model but it's the cheapest car they have and our only option if we want to stay at $500 a month which is already more than we can afford for a car we didn't really want in the first place. They want around 19 000 for it but at a crazy interest of 16% or so plus taxes fees and what not it's $500 payments every month. so this being our cheapest option according to the manager or paying them a $1000 on the spot had no choice but to tell my husband ok then get it. what can we do right but deal with it for now and trade it later. So we take the car which I'm not thrilled about really. Then it comes to our attention they have a new used kia soul ! edition coming in next week. The manager says he'd be happy to let us swap the fit for the soul if we'd like. It has 18 000 miles on it and is a 2010 but is in mint condition other than the miles. It's got a price tag of 15 700 alot cheaper than the fit and with the power locks sunroof and other features it seems like more bang for our buck. But we don't want to make a stupid decision again guess you learn from your mistakes. So what's your opinion kia soul or honda fit? And anybody know if our interest will be more on the soul because of the miles? There both 2010 models so I don't think so but I'm not sure. Sorry for long question but wanted to explain the whole story.

SCARED BUT REALLY WANT TO DRIVE?

Hi guys&girls,
 I'm 17 and had my provisional UK licence for about 6 month now, My friend's and family are offering to buy me a few driving lesson's as they want me to also drive.. But i refuse because " i'll start when i've got my own money " when truth is i'm really scared :/

I just dont know whats up with me, alot of my friend's are now passing there tests and going for drive's out and im like OOOohhh! Yeah i'd love to drive,, which is true! I really really want to drive i think its amazing.. Now obviously im going to have to say what scares me even though it's embarassing but here goes :

Things in worried about is.. Clutch? How all that works etc etc..
Keeping steady foot on speed limit (hard becuase my tendants where snapped in my foot when i was a baby.. So i dont have much motivation in my ankles (cant bend them up alot.. Starts to ache after 5 seconds :( )
How much to turn the wheel when going round corner's..
Also when people turn corners.. They turn.. Then when back on the straight strech.. They dont turn the wheel back round straight away? They leaving it turned and let it slide back round on its own.. And it just goes straight..

Now i know everybodys going to say " well you learn that in your lessons! "
I know that but im scared of doing them! Urggh what can i do!!

My dad wont take me out in his car due to the car being so deer :// so im not going to have any experience atall which i would much rather have a little experience with me first but around a family member where i feel safe and secure like anybody would..

Soo.. Any idea's?

How many miles is too many when buying a truck?

I'm looking at a 2002 GMC Sierra with 184,000 miles on it, as well as other trucks with a higher mileage as I'm looking to buy my first car. Could I get some feedback on different trucks and the "expected" lifetime of them? I've heard stories of people having up to 500k miles, but I know this all depends on how a car is treated. Thank you for your help!

Is it reasonable to charge $1,200.00 to replace a timing chain on a 2001 Durango?

We bought a 2001 Dodge Durango which began "missing." We had already put out nearly a thousand dollars but the mechanic called today and said the timing chains needed replaced. There are 3 on them on the car and to replace them will cost us over $1,200 dollars. Unfortunately we have an extremely limited income, which is why we bought this car in the first place so we can't just scrap this and go buy something else. Please, if any of you are familiar with this type of problem could you offer your advice. Thank you so much.

How can I know if my lawyer has commited malpractice?

I got a car accident 5 years ago. All along this time, my lawyer has only provided guideline for medical tests. In five years, he has not arrived to an agreement or brought the case into court. He says it is not the time yet, that I have to keep waiting for a total recovery. However, this is not going to be case as I have after-effects.

I would like to know, first, if my lawyer is committing malpractice. And, second, how I could find out if the opponent (the person who caused me the accident) has already paid my compensation to my lawyer. In other words, he has been bought off.

Thanks for your answers. Yes, I’m already looking for a new lawyer. And, statue of limitations did not expire yet. It seems this is the only thing former lawyer did. In addition, he's asking me for extremely high fees. For that reason, I sent him a letter asking for details. But, I don’t like his answer as his fees are unjustified. What should I do next? Write him again? Call him?

I totally agree with filing a grievance. Help me to list reasons for malpractice. How would you express them in legal language?
Right now, I’m writing my complaint.
But, I’ve my doubts. What about if the agrievance commission decides that my lawyer proceeded rightly? Then, could my former lawyer bring me into court? If so, which consequences could I have?

I think that if my former lawyer doesn’t seem to be bothered with my case is because he has received some $ from the opposing party. What do you think? Could it be possible? How could I find it out?

Does putting little gas in your car all the time damage your gas filter? (10 points for best answer)?

there was one time when i kept on putting $10 gas 87 unleaded in my car each time, then on Friday my service engine light came on and stayed on while I was driving. So i didn't do nothing about it when my gas was nearly finish, for the first time in a long time i filled up my gas tank full to the top with 89 unleaded gas, and surprisingly the service engine dashboard light has never came back on ever since which i thank god because I thought there was something really wrong with the car. So my question is does putting little gas in the car each time you buy gas damage the gas filter/tank?

this is a long story, so if you dont want to hear, please move on, and if you continue reading thanks so much.
I have 2 brothers,and 1 sister, we are all grown, we were raised by my mom, as a single mother, who struggled plenty on supporting us.
Again, we are now all grown, my sister o/o/t.She came this weekend for a visit.
well, our dad came back to dallas a little over 10 years ago from michigan, since then he's been a great father.As kids we were told, and we understand as i do remember an incident in witnessing him coming home one night drunk and them fighting, the cops were called.
Anyway,i remember that,so i believe her, i also know that he beated her/cheated on her/abused her/ and paid only 300 child support for his three kids, my youngest brother isnt his. His father wasnt around either.
When my dad came back we were still in highschool, he bought us all our first cars, and it became routine for us to spend Monday evenings (his day off) with him for dinner.To this day we do that.
It wasnt long before our mother would get upset with us saying 'yall love him more' yall dont love me' yall treat him like this and that' and yall treat me like 'shit'.
My dad trys to be civil, he hasnt drunken alcohol in over 8 years now.He is the adult between the two of them.She has childish ways.
I also have a 3 year old daughter,(and raising her single).
My mom watched her for me the first 2 years of my daughters life so i could work.
I appreciate her for this, however she let my daughter get away with EVERYTHING, and eat EVERYTHING/ANYTHING, whenever she wanted, and I didnt like that, I would talk to her about it, she would say 'okay it wont happen again' and i would find out that it of course would.
how annoying is that? My mother also has a few 'conditions' she has fibromayalgia,and cervical syndrome/ and she also suffers from depression/attention.
anyway, yesterday we were at my dads, having dinner and my sister wanted me to post these pics of hers onto photobucket.I was in the process and had a question about something, she guided me thru it .
before then my mom was online trying to sign on to her facebook. Well EVERY time she signs on, we go thru the same 'whats my password' and ' i dont remember using my email to sign on', steps, EVERY SINGLE TIME.
then she 'cant remember her password' yesterday it ended in 58 and she was saying 59.
anyway, when my sister helped me she says 'you see, why when yall hellp one another yall speak to each other all calm, but let it be me and yall snap at me. My sister tells her 'this is beckys first time doing this' we go thru what we go thru with you everytime. then she says 'yall talk to me like im one of your friends' yall dont respect me.. becky you try to be so strict with your daughter and make her follow these rules, but your the exact opposite to me.. you dont respect me.. you dont love me, she goes outside, and we leave, while in the car my sister is trying to talk to her to find out or talk about the problem, my mom is breathing all heavy, hyperventaliating, yelling, crying, saying the whole family looks down on her, she brings up not being thanked at the baby shower, then again how i dont love her, and how she thinks we have something against her for being a single mother.. My daughter is sitting there saying 'grandma whats wrong.. over and over, and my mom doesnt answer. It was a long ride home, long and unwanted by me.
My sister drops me off at home, and she takes my mom home.
But the bottom line is, my mom is sick, shes always ever since i can remember been a pill popper. She acts like a child in need of attention, and yes, maybe i do resent the fact that she raised us the way she did.
Gosh, it was hell, we never had a 'home' of our own, and even if, for the few months that just maybe we could get into an apartment, it was a 2 bedroom for a five family, and at times, she would have some other lady living there with all her kids. Always just staying with family members, getting hand me downs for clothes.
all thru school we were never 'encouraged' to join activities. Seriously, her expectation for us was to 'graduate' from highschool. thats it.
it sucks.
okay i said it. I have never talked about this to any of my brothers or sister.
But i do have that agianst her.. if you cant take care of one child, why have more?
If my dad was sooo bad and treated her the way he did with her first kid, why then, did she have me with him, then my brother? I dont get it.
I believe her stories, but i think she could have done something to prevent some of the crap we went thru.
I know what it feels like to have a kid by a man you love and 'think' he loves you back only to be used,/hurt and abused.
But I learned my lesson.. I have one daughter to raise and hope and pray everyday that im doing the best I can for her. I want more for her than
I really dont think i should apologize for something i didnt do.. or am i just a heartless b?

i just bought my 1997 prelude Sequential SportShift, and it very really clean title with a low mile, only 79,XXX original mile, and also this car is my first car too. i just bought it like 3 days ago and i thought it would be good as the manual but it isnt. it's only 4-speed sportshift. and now i kind of have a feeling like i wanna trade for a manual one, but i dont know what to do. should i just keep it and dont trade? im running out of my mind, i really need u guy to share me some of your idea/opinion. should i trade it or keep it???

first i will have to say O'relly?
but seriously it seem people have forgot WHY there are arrange marriages.

well firstly because women are not cars that you buy after a test drive. you get her you have to get along with her. in arrange marriages it is not just the man and the women that try to make the relation strong there whole family unites and makes it possible. unlike love marriages in which mostly the girl and the boy just leaves the house eventually.

now remember that love marriages can be made arranged and arrange marriages can be made love marriages. it is not very hard unless you are a crazy mofo boy who cant take responsibility or a full of attitude b!7ch who is almost same even in love marriages.

and some of you might think that arrange marriages can never be successful as the girl and the boy do not know each other etc etc. but you are wrong. actually according to surveys and research love marriages fail a hell lot more.

you see your parents are not your enemies. you might not know the guy but your parents do. they know you more than you know yourself. you may disagree but that is the truth. they know which what kind of person you will be happy with.

you might think that what if they are wrong. yes they might be wrong sometimes they are not gods. but being wrong sometimes is better than being wrong many times and still very hardly find the perfect match.

in love marriages the matches have to be perfect. the girl should be how the boy want and the boy should be how the girl wants. and i am talking about real love marriages. not those kinds where sexy girls make rich boys get crushes on them and get married with them and make there lives a living hell.

where arrange marriages are made perfect. neither boy or girl can just break it up. they both are made to end there differences by both o there families. and IF there is no love between them it comes over time.

i mean seriously how do people love each other? they are with each other for too long. and they get the feeling you know. and im not talking about love at first sight. love at first sight is actually lust.

so there you go. arrange marriages are not EVUL they are better for you . and anyways if you are too much of a irresponsible guy or a too much b17chy b17ch then there is always a thing called divorce. which btw usually happens in love marriages where no one is there to stop it.

Where is the best place to take my car with these conditions?

My car brakes are totaled, the pads are now grinding (only on the front right side) because this is my first car and since I've had it, I ride the brakes. So, don't comment on my driving skills, it was only in the beginning of having my car.

Well my car needs new pads and rotors and possibly a caliper needing to be loosened up/replaced.

I've heard that top end companies like Mineke and others like those sell you the cheapest brakes and charge you up the a** for it all.

I live in Rockford, IL.
and my car is a 1995 Saturn SC1 if that helps.

Don't tell me to buy a new car because you'll be wasting both your time and mine.

I'm 21 years old and is planning on buying my first vehicle..I been really interested in sports cars and coupes and so I feel in love with the Mazda RX- 2004-2009 models and was wondering if it was worth it? also what would be a reasonable down payment on a pay range of 11,944 to 18,899. I'm only interested in the Automatic transmission and if there are any mazda rx-8 drivers out there feel free to inform me on your experience with this vehicle.

Help with friend conflict?

I wanted to go on a once-in-a-lifetime birthday trip this year, and I invited my friend that I've known forever to come, and she said she would come. After several months, she said she couldn't because she couldn't afford it. Her reason keeps changing, which I find suspicious, first it was that she needed tires, then when I asked if she'd bought them, she said she was waiting til next year, and now she says she wants a new car because hers isn't safe in the winter. I was trying to be fair and understanding about her finances even though I'm super disappointed, but then I just couldn't take it anymore, and I did make one frustrated comment on Facebook, not mentioning any names. Anyway, we're trying to sort this out, but I don't think she gets it just how bad she let me down. She's acting all aggrieved because I 'attacked' her with this facebook post, but I'm thinking 'one comment against your best friend bailing on the biggest birthday plan ever', they just don't compare. Any advice would be helpful.
